The Membership
The Northumberland Golf Club offers a premier membership experience with a Championship standard golf course (Open Qualifying status) for all ages and abilities, first class practice facilities including a members only driving range and a wonderful traditional Clubhouse.
Subscription Rates:
- 33 yrs and over: £1,926 (Entry Fee £800)
- Country 60: £474 (Entry fee £350)
- 14-16 yrs: £165
- Social: £197 (Inc. VAT)
History
The course opened on the 4th June 1898 with JS Caird the professional at the Town Moor providing the initial design input.
Various design changes took place depending on the position of the Clubhouse and then in 1913 after the Clubhouse moved to the west end of the Park, HS Colt was called in to redesign the course layout and much of his work was in progress when the 1914-18 War broke out.

Visitors
Our visitors relish the challenge of playing a championship golf course, but we have taken care to ensure it’s still enjoyable for players who are not quite up to Open standard! Our location just yards from the A1 makes Northumberland Golf Club particularly popular with golfers touring the area.
Coaching
We cater for all ages and abilities ranging from elite players to complete beginners and have membership categories to fit from Academy and 9 Hole through to Full Playing.
The golf course is always in fantastic condition playable all year round and is supported by 4 additional holes and practice facilities including a driving range. Outside of the main competitions we do not have a tee booking system, offering relaxed turn up and play opportunities.
